So
now London is the (self-proclaimed) World
Capitol of Art. I think that New York would have a serious bone
to pick over that, but still, it´s hard to deny the brilliance
of London´s preeminent location for new art, The Tate Modern.
I enjoyed that museum as much as, if not more than, any other museum
I´ve been to in the world, including in New York.

Lo
and behold -- Cambodia is holding
it's own on the global stage by maintaining HIGHER labor standards...

I am in Mendoza, Argentina at the moment. It's a lovely, surprisingly
wealthy town at the foot of the Andes, and it's in the center of the
country's wine country. Anyway, I almost peed my pants today when I
drove past a WALMART!! In Argentina!! The Andes!! Walmart!! The world's
gone mad!!

Isn't it amazing that we

I
love the headline of this
article..."It's the Stupidity, Economists." True, true.
Sadly true.

We
are now to the point where the New Yorker is justifying
pop culture by suggesting that it actually makes us smarter. Yes,
yes, watch Paris Hilton for a half hour, ace you SAT's. Rot...

This is why my summer in London is going to be soooo
difficult. Damn the Republicans. Again... (subscription necessary).

I
am reading Martin Amis for the first time currently, and I am finding
him alternatingly brilliant and irritating beyond toleration. The guy
can write, no doubt. But he can also name drop and brag and use big
words just to prove he knows them. I'm left knowing not what to think
of him at all...

I'll
be back in NYC next week. Everyone who knows me, please drop me a line
and let's grab a beer!!
